In 2007, Wincanton was the winner of the ‘Best Small Racecourse of the Year’ award and is a winner of the Racehorse Owners Association Gold Standard Award.
There are 17 fixtures of quality jump racing between October and May, an average of about two meetings per month. Each event is a thrilling experience, whether or not you are seasoned racegoers.
Eight of the race days are on a weekend or a bank holiday, providing you with a great excuse for a weekend away or a great day out. The Saturday meetings provide some of the best racing of the National Hunt season featuring some of the top horses in the country. There are family days on Sundays and bank holidays so all the family can join in the fun. Not only do children aged 16 and under get in free but there’s free children's entertainment as well, including a crèche for 3-8 year olds and 'Jolly Jumpers' amusements on Sunday meetings.
In April, there’s Countryside Day which includes terrier racing and ferret racing, and a Ladies Day. In May, there’s also an evening meeting of excitement music and fun.
