King’s Bruton was established in 1519, receiving royal foundation status some 30 years later in the reign of Edward VI. The present-day Foundation also encompasses Hazlegrove, King’s preparatory school, which educates boys and girls from two and a half to 13 years of age, at Sparkford. Today, however, King’s is a modern, co-educational boarding and day school, with 350 pupils who benefit from a rich combination of academic learning and extra-curricular activities in an idyllic South Somerset setting.
